The jacket is breathable, yet waterproof too, so, will even on long walks prevent any rain to penetrate the material. The jacket is about arm length long, so you can still move around in it well. You also get 4 pockets on the outside of the jacket. Two pockets on the chest, and two pockets, at hip height.
